Trade Capture and Settlement:
- Ensures the prompt and accurate execution of all aspects of trade capture and settlement processes, including bonds, equities, money market, options, swaps, and futures;
- Provides support for automated processes on a busy OTC bond desk, ensuring efficiency and reliability in trade execution;
Books, instructs, and coordinates the timely and accurate transfer of securities and cash movements, ensuring precision in execution and settlement.
Risk Management and Reporting:
- Manages existing financial control procedures and proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement or enhancement to strengthen controls;
- Conducts daily reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of trading activities;
- Independently checks for accuracy and identifies any deviations from procedures and policies, safeguarding investor interests in an informed and professional manner;
- Provides general support for the trading desk and performs ad hoc tasks and analyses as needed to support trading operations.
Critical Competencies
Requirements
- Must possess expertise in fixed income securities and derivative operations.
- 1-2 years in hedge fund operations preferred; previous experience with investment systems such as Bloomberg, Calypso, Markit, CTM, and Icelink is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including a solid grasp of MS Office applications
- Advanced Excel, VBA, and Python scripting skills are required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Achievement of, or active pursuit of, a CFA designation or CSI Derivatives Fundamentals course is preferred.
