Investment Accountant

Full Time | Toronto

Responsibilities

  • NAV Review: Reviews daily and month-end NAV packages.
  • Record Analysis: Examines and analyzes accounting records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Monitors, investigates, and resolves price and position discrepancies.
  • Value Verification: Performs daily and monthly price and market value checks.
  • Statement Preparation: Prepares and reviews valuations, financial statements, and distributions.
  • Report Compilation: Compiles and prepares information for financial statements and other reports.
  • Wire Transfers: Executes daily wire transfers accurately.
  • Cash Planning: Performs monthly cash planning for capital activities and expenses.
  • Metrics Reporting: Collects and prepares monthly metrics reports.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Assists the team with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hedge fund accounting;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field;
  • Previous derivatives accounting experience;
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements;
  • Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting;
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with Advanced MS Excel skills, specifically pivot tables, V/H-lookups, macros, what-if analysis, and dashboards;
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, and reporting;
  • Salesforce CRM knowledge and coding experience are considered an asset.
